Officer Matt Bucksath
Matt was hired in August of 1999 as a part-time police officer. Matt grew up in Pierce Township, Clermont County where he attended Amelia High School and graduated in 1991.
After high school he pursued his education as an Emergency Medical Technician and Fire fighter where he attended Dee Russell Lee Career Center and obtained his certification as a Paramedic. Matt continued his education in Public Safety when he attended the police academy through the University of Cincinnati in 1998.
Matt began his public service career in 1999 as a Firefighter-Paramedic for the City of Cincinnati. Matt served six years in Cincinnati where he had the opportunity to further his education by taking numerous classes on handling weapons of mass destruction. Matt left Cincinnati in February of 2005 to become a full-time police officer with Goshen Township.
Matt has been a K9 handler for most of his law enforcement career. His first canine partner was “Djim”, a Belgian Malinois. His current partner is Jinx, a German Shephard. Matt and Jinx obtained are a State of Ohio certified canine team. They are certified through the North American Police Working Dog Association as a narcotic detection team.
Matt is also assigned to the Clermont County Sheriff's Special Response Team.
